Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
At Danesholme Academies, our SEND approach is designed so that every pupil with special educational needs and/or disabilities is supported to ‘Be Ready’ to learn, thrive and achieve their full potential.

Ready to Learn - We remove barriers to learning by providing a high-quality, inclusive and knowledge-rich curriculum, underpinned by adaptive teaching and targeted SEND support. Pupils with SEND are supported through carefully planned adjustments, personalised provision and evidence-based interventions, ensuring they can access learning, build on prior knowledge and make sustained progress.

Ready for Life - We place a strong emphasis on pupils’ wellbeing, emotional development and independence. Through nurturing relationships, pastoral support and tailored provision, pupils with SEND are supported to develop confidence, resilience and self-belief. We work proactively to ensure pupils feel safe, valued and understood, enabling them to develop the skills they need for life beyond the classroom.

Ready to Contribute - We promote inclusion, belonging and positive relationships across all aspects of academy life. Pupils with SEND are actively supported to engage fully in lessons, enrichment opportunities and wider school experiences. We encourage pupils to develop social and communication skills, build positive peer relationships and contribute meaningfully to their school community.

Ready to Succeed - We hold high expectations for pupils with SEND and are committed to ensuring they achieve the best possible outcomes. Through clear assessment, regular monitoring and personalised targets, support is adapted to meet individual needs. We work closely with pupils, parents and external professionals to ensure provision is effective, responsive and enables smooth transitions to the next stage of education.
All children's needs are met by the delivery of our Inclusion Charter - see our explained versions below as an attachment.
