At Danesholme Academies, our mathematics curriculum is designed so that every child will 'Be Ready':
Ready to Learn — In Maths, we provide a clear, structured curriculum that builds strong number and problem-solving skills. Children are ready to explore mathematical ideas, spot patterns, and use practical methods to understand new concepts.
Ready for Life — Maths develops confidence, reasoning, and resilience. Children learn to apply mathematical thinking to real-life situations and recognise how maths is used in everyday life.
Ready to Contribute — Maths encourages collaboration, discussion, and respect for different methods. Children learn to explain their thinking, listen to others, and work together to solve problems.
Ready to Succeed — With clear progression in number, reasoning, and fluency, children are supported to achieve well. High expectations and regular practice ensure they are ready for the next stage of their mathematical learning.
We have a mastery maths approach from Nursery through to Year 6 following the NCETM curriculum.
The academy is part of the NCETM Maths Hub and we continue to develop our practice.
