Remote Education
Remote Education at Danesholme Academies
At Danesholme Academies, we are committed to ensuring that every child can continue learning when they are unable to attend school. Our remote education offer provides access to high-quality learning opportunities that reflect the curriculum taught in school and help pupils stay connected to their learning journey.
When Remote Education Will Be Provided
Remote education may be provided when a pupil is unable to attend school for a period of time but is well enough to engage in learning. This may include short-term illness, recovery from medical procedures, exceptional circumstances or other situations where attendance at school is not possible.
How Pupils Can Access Remote Learning
Remote learning is delivered primarily through Microsoft Teams, where pupils can access learning materials, assignments, teacher guidance and feedback. Depending on the age of the children and the nature of the learning, additional platforms and resources may also be used to support learning at home.
Expectations for Engagement
Pupils are expected to engage with remote learning activities and complete work to the best of their ability. We encourage families to support children in establishing positive routines and maintaining regular participation in learning. Where engagement is low, the academy will work with families to identify and address any barriers to learning.
Support for Pupils with SEND
We are committed to ensuring that all pupils, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), can access remote education successfully. Learning may be adapted where necessary, and additional support or resources will be provided to help pupils remain engaged and continue making progress.
How Parents Can Obtain Help
Parents and carers who require support with remote learning, including accessing learning platforms, technical issues or concerns about their child's participation, should contact the academy office. Staff will be available to provide advice, signpost support and help resolve any difficulties.
Access to Devices and Internet Connectivity
We recognise that access to technology is essential for successful remote learning. Families experiencing difficulties accessing suitable devices or internet connectivity should contact the academy. Where possible, the academy will work with families to identify appropriate support and solutions.
Our aim is to ensure that pupils continue to develop their knowledge, skills and confidence, maintain a connection with their class and teachers, and return to school ready to continue their learning successfully.
