  • VE Day 80 Years Celebrations - Thursday 8th May

    Published 28/04/25

On Thursday 8th of May, Danesholme Academies will be celebrating 80 years since Victory in Europe was declared at the end of World War Two. Before May the 8th, the children will learn about the significance of VE day in assemblies and lessons.

On the day itself we would like all the children and staff to wear red, white and blue mufti. It could involve wearing a combination of these colours, or just one of the colours. We will also be holding a cake competition on the day. For those who would like to, we invite you to make and decorate a cake with a VE day theme! At the end of the day we would invite all parents and children to the Infants and Junior school halls to purchase slices of cake.

All proceeds raised will be donated to The Royal British Legion who support service personel and their families. Thank you!

Mufti Day - DJA and DIA

This event aims to support Skylark Ward, the children's ward at Kettering General Hospital. Skylark Ward provides not only essential medical care, but also a range of services to make children feel more comfortable during their stay. These include play specialists, on-sight education, a playroom, and a sensory room.

We encourage all students to wear non-school uniform for the day in exchange for a donation. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a real difference to the children and families who benefit from the incredible work of Skylark Ward.

Let’s come together as a school community to support this important cause!
Thank you for your generosity and support.
