This term year 1 will be learning about farming, animals and their babies and the food chain. To support this, we have planned a Year 1 trip to West Lodge Rural Centre on Tuesday 3rd October. This is a great opportunity to bring learning to life.

We are looking forward to sharing our celebration of learning with you all.
As part of our topic on water, we will be undertaking a visit to Stanwick Lakes, where we will have the opportunity to do pond dipping and carry out scientific investigations into our findings.

As part of our topic this term, ‘Dinosaurs’, we will be learning all about dinosaurs and their habitats. To support this we have planned a trip to watch Dinosaur World at The Corby Cube on Thursday 30th March. The children will be able to see many of the different dinosaurs we will be learning about. This will be a great opportunity to bring learning to life.
Comic Relief Red Nose Day March 17th 2023.
To support Red Nose Day this year we will be allowing children to wear mufti for a donation of £1.

World Book Day - Thursday 2nd March
On Thursday the 2nd of March Danesholme Academies will be celebrating World Book Day. The children can come in costume as a favourite book character if they wish, or in mufti. (Please don't feel the need to buy a costume especially for the day.)
Year 1 will be visiting Rockingham Castle to experience a real castle to develop their history and geography skills and learn some facts about the history of Corby and significant buildings where they live.
Christmas Jumper Day in aid of Save the Children.
Danesholme Academies will be inviting all children (and staff!) to dress up in spots, dots or Children In Need mufti to celebrate and support the great SPOTACULAR on Friday 18th November 2022.
We will also be asking for cake donations across both academies so that we can hold a cake sale within the school day. £1 donation for Mufti and cakes will be between 20p-50p.

Arrangements to come and have a look at our academy prior to applying for a Reception place starting September 2023.
We have a range of dates available to come and have a look around the academy - during the school day. This is so you can see our academy with our amazing children in.

Open day times - 10.00am to 11.00am 1.30pm to 2.30pm
